With 2015 rapidly fading in the rear view mirror, U.S. homebuyers and sellers are seeing their thoughts turn to the 2016 residential real estate market.
Several factors that could impact the real estate sector are already in play -- a fresh interest rate hike from the Federal Reserve (with more rate hikes likely to follow in 2016), stronger U.S. gross domestic product growth and a moderately stronger jobs market should bolster the economy and raise both mortgage rates and home prices, experts say.

Denver housing market has record year in 2015 but cools in final week
Metro Denver's housing market had a record year in 2015, but it also showed signs of exhaustion in the final month as prices stayed flat and the number of listings dropped sharply, according to a report Tuesday from the Denver Metro Association of Realtors.
"The Denver metro area continues to be the number one real estate market in the country," Anthony Rael, chairman of the DMAR Market Trends Committee wrote in a monthly update.
